I've looked everywhere but havn't found anything about this issue.

I ussually don't post on forums but I really need help.

I created a highscore system for my game and want the game to save the highscore for the next start up.

I've looked up a video tutorial doing this with "Save and Load" Attributes by storing data in a custom key name.

Now thats pretty easy to do.., my only problem is where is the Custom key name ?

In the video I saw, the custom key name was available after loading the Saving attribute, But my version doesn't seem to have it ?

Is there something I'm missing? I'm using the latest version for Windows.

Here's an screenshot:

And here is the video I'm talking about:

Help will be appreciated. I really need to finish my game quick

When you save an attribute, you type in a "custom" name for the key. It can be anything you like but I always name it the same as the attribute I'm saving. So if I'm saving game.highScore I will name the key highScore. When you load the attribute, be sure to use the exact same key name (again, by typing it in).

Hey Thanks for your response ,

However, it still doesn't seem to work.

How do I let Gamesalad detect what I type in the "Save attribute" section as a "Custom key" ?

To explain it better , at 5:38 in the video I posted above, he has an option to enter a key name in the
"Save attribute section" and he loads it later in the "Load attribute section"

I know he's using a old version of the program , so some things must have changed.

I tried what you said by typing in same "custom name" in both sections but that doesn't seem to work because the High score still doesn't save when I exit the game.

You have any idea what I'm doing wrong ?

If it didn't work when you typed in a key for the save and load attribute behaviors, I'm not sure why that would be the case. You're welcome to send me a link to download your file and I can take a look for you.

The idea of a "custom key" is that you specify a word (or any text) for the device to save that attribute under. Then when you load the attribute, you call it by using the same "key." But the "key" is just text. There's nothing else to it, no way to detect it (not sure what that means) or do anything but type it in in those two locations.

Things don't save in the creator viewer only in adhoc. A better option is to save to a table.
