Resolutions & Actors

Hi,
Been a member for a long time, but this is my first post...
I have made my first game, something simple (a keep up game) it has 4 scenes. Title, Game, End, Scores. Everything this working well but I have run into a problem with the actors.
First of all I done all the screens in photoshop and was using transparent actors to control going to next scene. But then decided I want the buttons to move on click so it looks a bit better. I have now imported these as PNGs (they are a lot larger in size) and scaled them down to the correct size I want them on the stage, but the quality of them look terrible now. They look really pixelated and bad quality.
I was thinking that if I import them as the actual size I want them when they scale up on devices with Retina or iPads it will lose a lot of quality there?
My question is, when I publish it will it look how it looks in Game Salad?
Also when I created my first project I have used iPhone portrait, but it didn't say which iPhone (I checked Resolution Independence) but when I went into photoshop I was designing for iPhone 5 size screen. So my main background image is longer than the stage in Game Salad.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Import the images as usual and dont scale then inside GS.
Make sure you check resolution independence.
Hope that helps
Title-Play.png
original size - 294x120
size in gs - 147 x 60
When I play it in GS though it looks all distorted and pixelated
Try making the image 296x120 instead, and the actor half that size. That should do it.
Thanks for your reply, I have tried that but the quality is still not great. I have taken some screen shots and lined them up here

As you can see on the try again button its really bad quality in GS compared to photoshop.
The try again image is png 344 x 72 and in GS its 172 x 36.
Is it just something that happens with the images? They lose some quality?
Are your images 72dpi?
