Making my character fly (HELP)

I am making an app called "Flappy Knight" and I'm having an issue. it goes through the pipes etc, score works but it only flies when I click my mouse on the character (knight). I've already got the test build on my iPhone and it is the same problem, when I preview it on gamesalad it only flies when I click on the character and I want it to fly when I click anywhere on the screen.

Please help me with this if you can, thanks.

Open your background "actor" and insert the same "code" as if clicking the bird. If for mobile...of course it is....choose touch 1 instead of mouse.

How exactly would I do that? I don't know how to make it so when the background actor is touched the knight flies up
