Deleting Attributes not working

I have a bunch of global attributes that I thought I was going to use, but then found a more efficient way of doing things. Needless to say I have a bunch of trash sitting around now. To be sure, these attributes are not being used. But when I go to delete them, the minus button disappears, no dialogues pop up, and nothing happens. What's going on here. I have to restart my GS for it to return to a working condition.

Thoughts?
