Getting white screen when opening GS template.

in Working with GS (Mac)
1st downloaded a full game template and it came up as a plain white screen thinking it may have been a corrupt file I went and downloaded a tutorial template but the same thing happened just opens a full page blank white screen. Does anyone know how to fix this? Also on a windows.
