Hi,

1. How do you constrain a particle effect to an actor size 80X72?
2. How do you make a tail like particle? example, a cat with a fire tail so when he run/jump the tail will follow the actions

I had a free template explaining this but can no longer find it :(

Thanks

This is nice but want it to be in particles. The video below is similar to what I want but struggling to do, the mouse is acting like it was a character. So the flame moves naturally, but when you jump, land, walk the flame will act to how your cat/character moves

Are there any other constrain particles to character videos or templates free or paid? Can't find any

I have a particles effects pack for sale at my site, not sure its what you're after but feel free to take a look.

@jamie_c I'd be happy to pay $5 just for the one effect I'm after instead of the whole pack for $5. What I'm after is a waving tail when cat is idle and when cat moves left, right, jump it will move how nature intended a tail to move.

    Thanks

I'll pay $10 if someone can help. I have never used particles that's why I'm stuck, I have played around with the free temps but don't know how to go about it

    . . . I have never used particles . . .
If you've never used particles before, why are you insisting this task needs to to be achieved using particles ? I think it would be far easier to do it by spawning elements, that's not to suggest it's a particularly easy task, but it's going to be a lot harder to achieve with particles.

On a side note, something for all you psychologists / social anthologists out there ! Counterintuitively money (or an equivalent) doesn't work as an incentive when the task requires even small amounts of cognitive input, I know it sounds weird ! Money works fine as an incentive for manual tasks (tasks requiring little or no cognitive input), but years of research has shown that as soon as even a small amount of thinking is required not only does money fail as an incentive but it can even be a disincentive.

@VeiraGames, like Socks mentions I'm not sure particles are going to be what you need for what you describe. I'd also consider searching the forums for Joints, I know I've seen a few threads about them now and again.

Imagine super man standing... his cape is flapping around, the wind is making that effect. Now soon as he runs the cape will start flapping fast, when he jumps up and back down the cape will flow with his actions (if that make sense). Now instead of designing all the animations in photoshop, I would like to use particles just to give it a more natural effect.

However I have a cat platformer and want his tail to do that. If the answer is still no then thank you and please close this thread before I start growing white hair!

I think people understand what it is you are trying to achieve, the question is still why you want to do it with particles ? I don't think it would be impossible with particles, just very very difficult, impracticably so, it really is the wrong tool for this kind of thing.

If you've never used particles before, why do you feel this task would be best achieved using particles ? For example is there something you've seen that is similar to what you need that was done with particles ?
