Layers are used to determine which actors appear in front of or behind other actors. Your layer controls for each scene can be accessed from the scene editor – in the inspector, select the “Scene” button, and then the “Layers” tab. Each blank project begins with one group of layers (labeled “Background”) by default, but additional groupings can be created by using the + sign.
If an item appears above another item in the list, it will appear in front of that other item in your screen. In other words, the closer to the top of the list an item is placed, the closer to you it will seem when it overlaps with other actors in your scene. Items, as well as groups, can be dragged around within the list of layers to control where they fall.
The Layers panel is also a great place to go to see all the actors who are currently placed within your scene.New to GameSalad? (FAQs) | Tutorials | Templates | Greenleaf Games | Educator & Certified GameSalad User
