So, here's my NON-Game App by Gamesalad (yes...you read that right)

Although I make games by night (Hi GummyBears!), by day I do marketing for a national retail tanning salon chain . I decided to create our company app with Gamesalad, something I've used for my own games. Now, it has been downloaded over 200,000+ times now between iOS and Android and does way more functionally than I could've ever dreamed.

Just thought I'd share and get the juices flowing for those who ever thought about pushing the Gamesalad Creator to make anything you can think of.

Here it is for iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/darque-tan/id591608755?mt=8

How are you handling your check in to feature? I don't remember us having the async options back in sept.

Tough subject, but people are going to do what they want to do. Air pollution causes cancer, but you don't see people making comments like that to drivers.

@‌joshmiller602 Congrats on getting your app finished and in the stores, especially if it was made with GameSalad...

Not sure why you think making a utility/non-game app in GameSalad is so extraordinary though... :-? the small minority are non-games made in GameSalad Creator, certainly, but it's not that unusual, I'm thinking! (I've made 2 utility apps, for instance ;-) and I can think of a few others)... but I applaud your enthusiasm and encouragement:

Best of luck with sales. :-)

This is nonsense and unnecessary. Sure to much isn't healthy. But in my country with long grey winters Tanning is actually doing people good. For mind and body.
I don't understand why you would even bring up a remark like this.

    Nice app.

I like the skin analysis portion of the app...ya know...the part that reduces the risk of cancer.

...you should consider a template sale...good to see there is much more GS can do...they need ways to expand their presence and capabilities.

@icedb tan salons are banned in Australia due to cancer risk. I get it.

When they click the checkin feature it opens a mobile site that gets their info and writes to a database that's then pulled into the store.

Thanks. I love the Gamesalad platform and wanted to get people thinking creatively about how they can further use it outside of just games. The possibilities are endless if you are creative.

congrats on your success with this man. I can confirm that this is indeed a GameSalad application, and he just thought of some nifty workarounds to get the 'features' you see in the app.

Yeah, I lived in Boston & Minnesota for years, and doctor's used to send people to tan for Vitamin D deficiencies, Seasonal Affective Disorder, etc. so I get it. We also offer plenty of other types of tanning, but he just wanted to get his snarky, irrelevant remark in there. Haters gonna hate.
