What's the best way to preview ipad retina games in GS?

I have a 1920x1080 monitor. This means the screen is terribly cut off for ipad retina even at 50%. One way I have thought about getting around this is to take a series of screenshots (which do work). While this works in a slightly annoying way for getting an idea of the layout, the team member who actually has an ipad retina to test it on is a few states away so I can't actually get a feel for the game. Is there a good way of dealing with this issue? Other than buying an ipad retina, which won't happen unless an app decides to go make some money haha.

    Displays fine on my 1440 x 900.

You're just trying to get a feel of how it looks, correct? Testing on a device is especially crucial when you're looking out for performance issues and UX.

Anyway, try ticking the Scenes tab in Preview.
It's the blue filmstrip-looking button beside the zoom combo box. Should give you a bit more space to preview your scene.

I did do that. However there are still parts of the screen being cut off (this is a portrait mode game). I'm still getting some cutoff though at 50%

    iPad Retina (portrait) = 1536 x 2048.

Working in GameSalad at half that resolution (but with Resolution Independence checked) = 768 x 1024.

    Scene displayed at 50% = 384 x 512.

What is the vertical resolution of your screen ?

It's like this on my screen (I haven't maximised the Gamesalad window -- if I do, that should give me a bit more space).

What is your actual Resolution/display settings on your mac. Just because you have a huge monitor doesn't mean your settings are turned all the way up.
