Reply to @gyroscope ... Abuse of Power?

@gyroscope Look man I don't care that you closed the forum. Although I see it as very childish and even an abuse of forum moderation powers. Simply because I don't agree with your assertion?

Look dude it isn't that I don't agree with you. I have no solid opinion on the company because I haven't launched my apps to test out their service. You however, continue the the argument simply because you refuse to accept the supposedly absurd idea that its service is legit (is it? I don't know, but provide proof). You sit there and constantly claim that I am wrong and even talk down to me because you formulated an opinion on the company WITH NO EVIDENCE. I've asked you numerous times, if you have ANY evidence that this company is shady, to present it. I'm sure all of us would like to have seen it. (Btw not having a link to a company isn't proof. If I were to join I wouldn't want a link back to me. I wouldn't even want to be mentioned just because that is how I prefer it with any service I use). Like I said, I certainly wouldn't use them if their was evidence of their shady ethics or what not. Honestly I can say I'm glad you aren't a lawyer. You can't present facts, make assumptions you claim as fact, and abuse your power if you don't get your way. You may make a great politician in this current political climate lol.

Like I said numerous times over, I haven't paid anything and am not going to do so until I have verified through my own tests that it works. I'm not telling anyone at all to buy it. I don't care if anyone buys it, uses it free, or ignores it all together. Your own prerogative.

Just so you know. Having your own per-conceived notions and beliefs that optimizing keywords and your store page is a waste of time is not evidence. I've asked numerous times for any proof for any of your claims, yet have provided none. What you fail to realize is I'm on middle ground here. I don't have a confirmed opinion on the matter. From what I have read, I've been finding lots of positive information about ASO. That's it. If it works, it works ... yay. If not oh well. What has me irritated now (and why I debate your stance) though is that you seem to believe you are some omniscient force on the forums. You are a mighty brain that can look at a website and determine their legitimacy. One who has no use for facts because they are pointless. All that matters is the opinion you form and everyone should adhere to your opinion.

All bow before the might @gyroscope and his mighty moderation powers.

P.S. Yes I am sure you will delete this. @CodeWizard Can you atleast take a look at this guy potentially abusing moderation powers. I just find it absurd to close a thread simply because he disagrees with no evidence. If he had evidence I'd have gladly agreed with him and wanted him to close it, but he didn't. It also wasn't any kind of argument until he turned it into one for no reason. I thought the post could have helped someone or provided a different option than traditional marketing strategies. We were having a discussion as far as I was concerned. A healthy debate requires facts and proof not assumptions.

But why does it matter so much to you if he chooses to close or not.

First thought you were innocent, but now you starting to look more and more involved with the company!

    P.S I love a good conspiracy!

I haven't dig real deep into it but on the surface I don't see how he has abused any powers. It's his job as a moderator to close threads that he feels no longer serve any useful purpose for the community.

Forum rules prohibit advertising of any app marketing services anyway and it may appear to him that this is In essence a marketing service

He may also take issue with the thread title being "best marketing tool I have found so far" and yet it didn't look like you had actually bought the service.

Again I could be wrong there I didn't read the whole thread right now.

I'm sure if you still feel he has done something wrong we could review it further but I don't see anything unacceptable on my initial skim through the thread.

Please note that I haven't read past the first paragraph of your post; my reason is there is no point, as far as I'm concerned, as you're on an attacking rant. I'm not going to discuss or argue the closing of your thread, other than to say:

I'm not sure why you consider me childish for closing it, still you're welcome to consider me that although I must point out that I closed it for the reason I gave in the last post there. (And my post before, I left it that I think one thing, you think another, and the only thing left is to agree that we disagree on this matter).

If you really are upset and truly believe I've abused my Forum moderation powers, please contact an Administrator at GS HQ and register your complaint there about my action; if they agree with you I'm certain your thread will be reopened.

You are, of course, welcome to do this, but a bit of advice: please consider what else you feel needs to be added to your thread to make your complaint about me closing it a valid one.

Gotta love the Internet. If you guys were sitting at a pub, you'd be having a heated discussion and buying each other drinks but since it's here on the forums, it just goes round and round and it's harder (not impossible) to hear each other clearly.

The thread was closed because it was just a back and forth without progression. When discussions are moving somewhere, we tend to let them go on -- even heated ones -- but when they just become arguments where each person stands their ground and starts to repeat their arguments, we close them.

Nobody ever likes having their thread closed. We do it sometimes because it keeps the rest of the forums on task. Is it unfair? Yes. But it's part of being a member here.

@TouchiMedia‌ Why? Because from my perspective it is an abuse of power. If I don't agree with him thread closed. I don't care if it is closed, that isn't the point. What has me irritated is what I have perceived as abuse. Like I said, if he had proof they were shady, I myself would have asked him to close it because I wouldn't want anyone using it. No proof, why close? I also didn't like his condescending tone either. There is enough of that on this forum.

@tenrdrmer He admits at the end he was closing it because I wasn't agreeing with him and his lack of proof. Was simply pointing out a tool. if that was the legitimate reason for closing it that is fine, but it came off as him closing it because I wasn't agreeing with him. He made no mention to the reason you gave. I'm sure he will now.

Like I said, I used the trial of the service. As you could with nothing more than signing in or using your gmail. I was able to use the Keyword search and from WHAT I HAD FOUND it was a useful tool. That is the way I perceived it from my limited use. That title is an opinion. I am entitled to one as far as I know.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if you take his side though. Not saying you are, but I wouldn't be shocked.

@gyroscope Sure thing. I will bring it to their attention. I really don't care if they reopen it, as I wouldn't suspect so if they deem what @tenrdrmer pointed out about marketing or what not. If they do deem your side as abusing your power though, I'd like to see you stripped of moderation abilities. The part I find unfair is it seems you closed it simply because I was not agreeing with you.

@tatiang Yes it did go back and forth without progression. I was fine leaving it until I had further evidence to support or negate the tool. He just insisted on responding about how it is not going to work, its a waste, useless, they are a scam?, but with no evidence. I was simply asking for some if he had it. When it gets down to it, he created the supposed argument that he claimed to have closed it for.

I'll be honest, I'm not a mod but I feel this could have been handled better by everyone involved (I don't think the thread should have been closed, I don't think it was 'abuse' that justifies yelling about it like he'd just killed your dog).

Mods are not infallible. They are human, they have bad days, they make mistakes, and they screw up sometimes.

They don't do this for a power trip - they do it because they care and they volunteer to help.

99% of the time they make the right call. Sometimes they make mistakes.

That's all there is to it imho

@quantumsheep You are right. I shouldn't have blown up over it, but the way I saw it was simply closing it because I wouldn't agree with him. I consider that abuse.

You are right that all mods are capable of screwing up. As far as I know this is his first abuse (I have perceived anyways) so in my GS support ticket I simply suggested that he be stripped of them temporarily. I wasn't requesting him to no longer be a mod permanently. If it is consider abuse though, they really should take atleast the temporary step just to show the don't condone the abuse. That is all.

Btw feel free to close this whomever. I apologize for the outburst to you @gyroscope and to everyone who read. Obviously no reason for it to be open any longer.

@FallacyStudios Your thread has been reopened by another Moderator.

I feel I must make clear - even though it's surely clear enough - that I didn't close that thread because you disagreed with me. I closed it because of the reason I gave in my last post there (I'm not going to repeat it; read it again, if you want).

I note that you are taking this matter further and reporting me for what you see as an abuse of power. I'll keep an eye out for any emails on this subject from GS HQ, then.

P.S I have skimmed through all of your first post here now; near the end, that sentence you wrote just before the last paragraph?

Now THAT is childish and a bit of a pathetic thing to say.
