Hey, Flamedrop again. I'm gonna start on my game, but does anyone know a good way to get actors? (drawing-wise).

Hello @flamedrop please make the titles of your threads more descriptive in future; if we all had titles like "Hello again", "Hiya all" or "Help meeeee pleeeeeease!" we'd all get very annoyed opening up the threads all the time to see what the question is....

In answer to your question: One good way is good ol' Google or other web search; try "free graphics dog" or "free vectors cat" or "free photos museum" or... well, you get the idea.

There are many other ways (some paid)... no doubt other member will let you know...

    Well, there are may options.

    1. draw it yourself if you can (http://2dgameartforprogrammers.blogspot.co.uk/ is often mentioned here and rightly so, fantastic tutorials for giving your art that little extra)
    2. team up with a partner who can draw
    3. commission someone to do the art for you
    4. buy sprite sheets from some service like shutterstock (licences can be a minefield, read the fineprint! Even payed images may usually not be used in apps because of their potentially high distribution, the highest licence fee is usually applicable.)
    5. search for free art as @gyroscope mentioned, although I see this as a last resort. It is risky for the same reason as below.

Don't grab some sprite sheet off google images (unless it is for personal temporary placeholder art. Even if it says "free", it probably is not free for commercial use. Also, this is the internet, you have no way of knowing if the person who uploaded the image actually had the rights to it in the first place.)

Game development is a creative process and an art, there for, it should ideally be your own creations.
