Size of the game

I read somewhere that the ideal size of the games on GameSalad would be 20 MB, My game would be at 30-40 MB, would that affect the performance significantly

Not at all. There have been GameSalad games that have been over 500MB and they still play fine. You won't have any trouble publishing with that file size.
