In the top 25 you are typically seeing 10k downloads per day. Not sure about top 100.

Also depends what country you are in the top 100 in. In our experience, the US app store you get about 5x the downloads for your position compared to the UK app store.

I think in top 5 its roughly 15k, top 25 8-10k, top 50 severe drop to about 3k maybe, top 100 bigger drop, make little difference being 99 from 51 I think.

Thats what I have heard. People only tend to look at the top, rather than tapping 'load more' to see more results, so as said its only really top 25 who get the real business.

Im not sure about the All Apps top 100, but from information Ive garnered from various clients Ive supplied artwork for, you'll see sales of around 300-400 units per day in the US to break into the Games top 100.

That then rises to around 1500-2500 per day for a game reaching number 30 in the Games chart.

Ive found most clients seem to stop giving sales data once things get above that... but needless to say if you can get a game in the top 30, and keep it there for a few weeks, its enough to quit your day job and turn to app development full time.

Obviously sales numbers are always going to vary, depending on time of year, the price of your app, and what apps your currently competing against.
