Gravity issue

Hello GS'ers,
I know how to add gravity to a scene. How do I have an actor that moves left/right, not be affected by the gravity. After adding "Y" gravity, my actor just heads south of the border. I tried adding an accelerate rule to off set it, but that didn't work. How do I do that? Thanks for helping.

I have a similar issue. I followed the instructions given and end up with my actor floating into lala land when he starts to cross a gap between buildings. Can anyone help with this?

That sounds like a good plan, why didn't I think of that? It seems too easy, gr,r,r,r,r,r,r. Thanks.

Best thing to do is not use gravity!

Just add accelerate down to everything you want to have gravity (relative to scene)

Definitely a valid solution that countless chefs have used, but it would be nice to use gravity... and yet not use it in some cases. I would certainly like a boolean actor attribute in a future release, under Physics or Motion, that says "affected by gravity" or similar, just like the checkbox in the Particles behavior. That way we could control gravity on a per-actor basis, without checking off "moveable" which obviously restricts all movement, including rotation.

Perhaps this post should be added to the Suggestions forum. In any case, not a huge deal since the Accelerate solution seems to work almost perfectly, but hopefully we get on/off gravity by version 1.0. :)
