Game size triples after publishing

I compressed all my images manually, and brought down the indicated file size to 50.2 MB. After publishing the file that is returned to me ends up being 174 MB. What gives?

So no one answered but I figured it out myself. It turns out even if you compress your images before publishing, gamesalad still re-generates the files to a larger default PNG size, and I also had on "resolution independence," which is misleading because it makes a physical copy of every graphic you use, significantly increasing the final file size, and some of those copies were larger in file size than the larger dimension png.

So I'm compressing the png's after publishing, and not using "resolution independence."

How do you compress the png after publishing? I cannot even preview it nor reading it with any imaging softwares.

This happens because of Resolution independence. When you publish a second set of, half size, duplicate images are added for non RI devices. This is normal and required to meet Apple support of both RI and non RI devices.
