@dreichelt, 1 beat you by 5. :p Grab sleep when I can. Sometimes I pretend to be working on american time, sometimes european time, or australian time. Good thing my wife is just as crazy! :D

Nice! It is a lot of work but it definitely beats working somewhere full time. I'm able to just work on games fortunately so I'm on my mac every day just about. I only want to keep this schedule up for one or two more months though. Once my plans of world domination are in order bwahaha.

I'd love to be able to do that, but I have a full time job and do this on the side on the train commute and after my family goes to bed. Makes my projects take 10x longer than I want them to :)

Indeed. It's been a gamble really but after spending years working in the game industry, now I have a job I can't stand but I have zero responsibilities and get to leave bang on 5pm.

I am a chef, started as a kitchen aid at 12 and moved up. Truly, I am ready to reduce my days to thurs, fri, sat and just help on the busy days! Plus married and workin on starting a family. Which is more a push to either make it and gain extra money on the side.

@ebookmania‌ haha that book is sitting on my table! It's my room mate's and he first told me about it. Very inspiring. There's a quote I always remember. "The hard way is the easy way." So work hard now until you have your game company in full sail and then reap the benefits :)
One of my favorite books for creativity is "Thinkertoys."

@dreichelt I can't wait until I start generating some revenue from apps, get out of this awful call center and like the dream!

Chef? That's awesome! It's really cool to see all of the backgrounds here. Some of my background includes Army medic, Theatre major (I just got my BA last year), and close up magician (member of the Magic Castle)

I've got two apps lined up to be released as soon as the new creator gets put out. I've been slaving away at my computer just about every chance I can get for the better part of a year.

I can't wait to actually see some benefit from all this effort.

@SmokeyAce73‌ yup that's what happened to me too. The worst it got was staying up until 7 a.m. before I finally got tired. But I was starting to lose it so now I go to bed around 1 and wake up at 9. I only started learning Gamesalad this January but it's a lot of fun to be able to program my own games even if I can only do simple ones so far. Being able to get ideas out of my head and visualize them is priceless though. It's really cool to hear all of the different stories. Keep them coming! I was trying to get my magic career going until I found GameSalad. Now all my time goes to pumping out games. If anyone ever wants to go to the Magic Castle in Hollywood, let me know :)

Yeah I'm single so I can spend all my spare time doing this. All my buddies have families now so I know how much time that takes of course. Fortunately my room mate got me into apps so we work as a team and can go pretty fast with production. What's your full time job?

Loving your job is awesome! Too many people have jobs they don't enjoy too much. I've seen your videos and I think you mentioned working as an engineer?

Good for you man! Just make sure you know some marketing techniques too so that people are able to see your app.

I'm lazy. Vampires get more done during the day than I do.

Wow... Actually, I'm amazed at both the fact that you posted that and the complexity of that sentence. I'll have to use that response in the future.

This is a perfect ad to not read that book.

It all depends on how you look at it. If your goal is financial freedom then you will have to work very hard for a while until your system, whatever that is for you, is set up. The hard way is the easy way. Being an entrepreneur is a lot of work but with much bigger payoffs for those who stick with it. I'm still on my journey myself. Check out Tim's blog some time. He's definitely spending his time how he pleases and was in work mode for a long time before that. Nothing good comes easy in this world unless your in politics I suppose.

Hell yes, the worst part is the dreams when you're working for free.

Work full time making corporate 2d amd 3d animation. Though after 8 years travelling to and from the office (studio?) I now work for the same company but from home after escaping to the coast last summer. Monday to Friday normal office hours (ish). Then kids and wife and attempted social life (odd bit of surfing) get time... Anything and everything left over goes to this game developing addiction.

Next game or the one after or the one after will be the one that let's me do it full time. Hopefully the current one as I've been slowly working on it in one way or another for about a year now.

Cheers to all of us becoming Indie rock stars of the future.
