Can anyone explain to me some methods that they use for advertising their games? So far I have used Instagram and Facebook but thats about the extent of my current marketing knowledge.

I've had some experience with IAD workbench, and to be honest, it's kind of not worth it. It all depends on what your'e willing to bid per acquisition, and most companies usually bid well over $1.00 CPA, which Is pretty nuts. I would invest that money on getting reviewed on 128APPS.com or those other sites, appworld. Or even consider spending like 200-500 for one month ad space on those sites. You'll get more exposure I think. I'm not saying you won't get downloads via the workbench route, but you're probably going to pay a lot per download and exceed well over $500 for like 50 downloads, which is insane. Better off adds on review sites and so on.

Also note that facebook advertising generates lots of in-organic likes and CPC's which really sucks too.

Its total junk from my experience. Expensive and didn't see a great result. Had better luck with AdMob / Google.

i somewhat believe in the app store.
i have about 3 years in internet marketing and worked with search engine optimization. and i strongly believe that the app store algorithms have got to be based on some of the same principals. keywords and meta data for starters. i also think that links may have help with these keyword rankings just like they do in search engines. so i say you gotta have links out there on webpages that link to your app store url. reddit, Facebook, blogger, your own website, all the app review sites, there are tons of sites that allow you to add your app to them and link.

I don't know if any of this is really true but just a theory i have.
