Make an picture transparent background?

Hello guys!
Ive want to make graphics for MY new game...
Im using Paintbrush (dont say it sucks, becuase ive know), ive hate when it shows White around the pictures.

How do i fix it?

    Ive tryied to google it...
    And "The pirate bay" is down, so no download for me right now...

    Err... Don't mean to sound like a nagging old git. But downloading pirate software (as both of you are suggesting) is both illeagal and wrong.

    Do not post this as an option for others as this activity is incredibly unprofessional.

    There are many excellent drawing and pixel painting applications available for free ie Gimp.

    You can also download a free photoshop CS5 trial from the adobe website if you want to try it out, lasts for 30 days i think. You could also try the pixelmator trial, the real thing costs under $100 (i think, i can't really remember how much).
