Moving an actor up stairs?

Hey guys,

I have a question, what is the best way to get an actor to move up a set of stairs. The actor is accelerating downward to mimic gravity, and if I create a rectangle shape and rotate it, align it with the stairs, the actor wont be able to walk over them. Its a side scrolling plat former. Whats the best way to have an actor climb up stairs in a side-scroller?
