Who else on these forums is using GameSalad (Mac or Win), and are the sole-creators of their games? I know I am, and man am I ever loving having full control over my game.

I've been developing this game of mine now for just under 2 weeks, and I've jotted down a timeline for how long it'll take me to do certain things. I've come up with a total time of 2 and a 1/2 months, which means I have roughly 8 or 9 weeks of work still under my belt, even though I have a fully functioning game as it is.

So with that being said, I am a one man army that is responsible for:

  • The game idea. Coming up with a game plot. Sketching out ideas.

  • Creating and/or finding royalty free music & audio that I see fit for my game in particular.

  • Level design. I've got just under 30 levels to think up, all of which are over 20,000 pixels wide.

  • Development in itself, which I've come to learn a lot in the short two weeks of using GameSalad, thanks to the helpful people found on these very forums.

  • All of the extra scenes of the game; intro, main menu, options, credits, instructions, achievements, popup before level, popup at end of level, etc. This took about a week in itself, but was very fun to be able to pick and choose what goes where, and how.

  • Main character design and implementation.

  • The game's main storyline.

  • The game's "sneak peek", "coming soon", and "released" trailers.

  • ...and so, so, so much more.

Programs I've had (& will have) to use to create, publish, release, and create hype for my game: GameSalad Creator, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Illustrator CS6, Autodesk 3Ds Max 2014, Microsoft Word 2010, Google Chrome, Switch Sound File Converter Pro, and NightsWithoutSleep version JodyMitoma.

I am incredibly thankful to the development team responsible for bringing us, the developers, GameSalad Creator. You don't receive enough praise and thanks, and I hope that people read this and take a minute to appreciate just how much of an opportunity you've given us. We're creating GAMES for heaven's sake!

Thanks for reading. Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend.
