    Photoshop, inkscape, gimp or any other photo creation tool. You can even use images from a camera.

    You'll need to spend some time reading about how to create and save/export a transparent background for your images. Import png formatted files so that they retain the transparency. Rely on Google, then come back to ask questions about anything that doesn't make sense.

    I made a picture of yellow star an u saved as in png I put it in game salad the it covers my back ground the white around the star still show why

    Google definitely has the link to a page with the info. Get used to using google to find tutorials it will help massively.

    Still stuck let us know what software you are using.
