GameSalad Viewer over VPN or host:port

To the powers that be...
I installed MacServe's iVPN (http://macserve.co.uk) on my iMac at home for an easy and inexpensive way to make a secure VPN endpoint. Works great when I'm at a Wi-Fi hotspot and I don't feel comfortable surfing unprotected on their network.
For gits and shiggles, I tried to see if I could get the GameSalad Viewer app to work over the Wi-Fi, over VPN, through the internet, and back to my iMac, where GameSalad Creator was running.
Alas, the GS Viewer does not detect the running GameSalad Creator. Is there a way you can force an IP address (if inside the network either locally or VPN), or IP address and port, so that way it can route back home?
This would be AWESOME to be able to work, say, via LogMeIn/Apple Remote Desktop/VNC and have my iPad or iPhone trace back to get the latest binary from GameSalad Creator.
