Anyone know how to or have made an app? (Not a game)

Hi all,

I sort have gotten a more passion towards making and designing apps, instead of games. While my first game and first app made with Gamesalad is under beta testing, I designed another app on paper. However due to the fact GameSalad is focus on games, does anyone know another software I could use to make an app, that's similar to GameSalad, or required little coding or learning curve. Or am I looking at a total new learning curve of a new engine or software to achieve this. It would have been made with GS but just few lacking features that makes it look unprofessional. Is there a magic software out there or anyone made an app before and can share experience.

I've messed with both Titanium Appcelerator and Sencha Touch, both are capable of making 'regular' apps but neither are magically easy (or magically delicious!).

I believe GameSalad can be used for all kinds of apps, not just games. I am sure there are a bunch of examples out there if you search for them.
