GameSalad crashes when changing the background color of a scene.

Hi folks,

I just downloaded GameSalad for the first time, and I'm really excited to use it for college work. However, when I try to change the background color of my scene. Save it, and re-open it. The software crashes, and I can't open any file anymore. The default template is set to iPad Landscape, but whenever I change the default settings to let's say an iPhone Landscape. The software won't crash. It's horribly frustrating since we've got to finish this project in four weeks, and I'm not a coding guru, and neither are my buddies in college. It would be greatly appreciated if you guys could help me out with this asap.
