Thoughts on Loading Screens

Last night I was thinking about what it means for pro user's to have a custom loading screen and for basic users to have a GameSalad loading screen. At some point it kind of seemed like the current system is backwards. This sounds strange, and I don't really think you should have to pay $2000 to use the GameSalad splash screen, but...

As it is now, GameSalad is using all of the basic user's games as advertisement while pros can release a game without a GS logo. While great games do come from basic users, this also means all of the games that are rushed and maybe not finished or just plain rip-offs of successful games are seen as GS too... and the polished games of pro users pass without GS affiliation. To me this seems like it would devalue how the consumer sees GS, which in my opinion puts GS at risk with Apple. GS should want their name on the best of what their community releases and not anywhere near the worst.

totally agreed! custom loading screens for all! they might be able to let everyone do that when they have online leaderboards out.. and make that a pro feature... even though I want online leaderboards sooo bad..... :)

Yeh Im going to miss a lot of future features because I don't have a pro membership.

I would pay $500 for it but I think $2000 Is rather expensive.

And let's not forget... that's 2000 bucks A YEAR! Even Apple Final Cut Studio (yes, I know it's not for game design but still) is a one off cost and it's cheaper than $2000! Come one!!!
