Debris effect similar to that in Tiny Wings

Hi Guys,

Can anyone advise on the best method to acheive the debris effect that Tiny Wings has? I have tried to use the particle behaviour, but I just cant get it to acheive what I'm after.

Any ideas and advice much apreciated!

Cheers

Do you mean the stars that burst our in a circle or something different? If its the stars that seems like particle effects should work just fine, you'd just need a custom shape of a star for your particle.

But you can always spawn whatever actors you like instead of using particles too, lots of people do that.

Hey Jamie, thanks for the reply. No, it looks like it is supposed to be leaves blowing in the wind. Maybe I'll try and spawn actors and interpolate their x/y.

P.s great vids and tutorials, they have been a great help!

I see, I watched a tiny birds video and only saw stars... :)

Thanks for the kind words about the tuts, I'm glad you found them helpful.

Just re-watched a video, I see what you're talking about. In the background there are a few leaves here and there blowing... I think your best bet would be to use a spawner on the right side of the screen and spawn little leaf actors. That way you can control their rotation, size, speed, etc.

I would just have a few actors with some random movement behaviours in that get recycled - I try to avoid spawning lots of actors if I can.

Also, if your camera follows an actor it might also be worth looking at some parallax behaviours so that the leaves look like they're moving independently. There are several tutorials and templates for that so shouldn't be too hard to figure out :)
