Hello all,
For the last couple months have been holding off from giving it a try to make a simulation game. Like pixel people. I quickly found out it's actually a lot of work behind the scenes with scripts etc. Has anyone ever done a simulation with GS so I could download your game and see what others have managed to do. Or any advice or wisdom that you may have learnt.

Update:
After 10 hours straight on graphic design, the first stage of graphics have finished. The story line has been created in basic forms. Eg. Try do this. Or buy a hotel to expand.
Now working on some people who walk around etc and react. This should be easy as i have given them a grid to follow, avoiding obstacles so they should just move around the objects. Since it's all tiled it should take a few hours.
If anyone has any suggestions or advice for making a simulation type game let me know
Sounds like you're making progress. Simulation games are complex and a lot of work as you've mentioned. I don't have any specific advice because there's so much involved but you can always post pointed questions and people here will help out.

the game I've been working on for a few months is a simulation type game. Not as complicated as pixel people or anything, but it is a simulation of sorts. quick games and high replayability. I hope to show it off soon

@jonmulcahy You have my attention. I for one am excited for some sneak peaks or when ever you show it off.
No doubt this game will take a few months as well, but I am really enjoying how creative you can be with events and what people say, or what actions you can do.
Good luck with your simulation
I have no interest in making a simulation game, but how would you go about making a Save feature. If you had people, or crops, or whatever it is about. Do you have to save their positions, animation, etc all in to tables to load, or would you sort of have the money or currency and items all saved so when you load the game you get all hat but any people or moving characters or cars etc would be randomly placed , or slowly make there way back on to the screen. Just curious.
Ive always wanted to make a Tiny Hotel esq game but put off until Multiplayer and other goodies are added to GS
