graphics doing the vanishing act

I have the most current version of GS. But some games the scene icon shows up blank on the game salad main screen where all the other projects reside. Now it seems for no reason I can figure out, the main game scenes are not placing any graphics into the scene icon. Also for no reason at all, when I add a new actor it looks like all the other actors vanish, if I do the back button they all come back but its really freaking weird, like there is some xcode gremlin that lurks on my mac messing with GS. Anyone else have these issues and if so did you find a way around it or through it or over it or under it, it it.
