Had a little play today and made a cool wind/tornado machine which then sparked several game ideas.

Darren.

Very cool. I'm trying to envision how it functions, and while I think i can make some educated guesses, I don't think I could put one together myself.

Nice stuff - I always like seeing the little things you play around with in GS, gives me inspiration to try other things too.

Fixed acceleration minus magnitude of the mouse to actor ?

When I made something very similar to this a while back that's what I did. I had to throw in a fair bit of actor drag and a magnitude based condition to limit the area of effect, though, which I presume Darren has too. But Darren's is much cleaner than mine was. I couldn't figure out a game to make with it that I could also provide suitable graphics for though.

Yeah, same here, I also made something similar, but mine was just a fix for a problem - for some reason in this kid's interactive book where I had leaves blowing around the scene they kept gathering in the lower left hand corner (0,0) even though scene wrap was on - I never really had time to work out what was going on (a very quick turnaround job), so I just stuck a 'blower' in that corner that did much the same as Darren's example (although not as smooth/cool looking as his)

Yeah, Darren's is much 'cleaner' and nicer looking than mine was too, I expect he's using some kind of intercessory prayer/incantation and/or witchery/magic.
