zipalign error

I change my mac computer. The system cannot find the zipalign item.
Thank you for any advice.

You have installed your SDK in another folder.

Goto your finder app, and type in zipalign, click this mac and search.
Look for a black box image, right click it and select show in enclosing folder.
This will tell you which folder it is in. Then navigate the your app signing setting to that folder.

I bought a new mac recently and had the same problem, but was solved by the steps I wrote above. Installing android SDK is soooo frustrating esp when it goes wrong.

Ive just checked mine and its not in the 4.4W folder. Have you downloaded the latest SDK?

Yes, the lastest SDK. I copy the zipalign from the 4.4w folder but don't work

In past I've this problem, to solve this issue i need to copy zipalign into the desktop, and after it works fine.

@pinkio75 It doesn't work... :-( there isn't zipalign in tools folder from the original android SDK download... what is wrong?

In that case it must be one of the updates/installs you have to do after downloading. Do a search for android (another black box) in your finder and open it up. After a few secs if will open 2 windows. In the android SDK manager, you want to make sure EVERYTHING is installed and updated.

@gingagaming I make the update for all android SDK before post here. How to uninstall to try again? delete sdk folder is enough?

still not working... no zipalign in tools folder, don't work with zipalign form other folders... I can create the keystore but not sign the APK

I have just googled the problem for you @Riffel‌ and it appears there is an issue with the latest Android SDK tools not packaged properly. However, all the forums state that you should simply copy the file from the 4.4W folder to the tools folder. Are you sure its a copy of the file and not a link to the file as I have read that it won't work if you do a symbolic link in OSX. I also read that running the zip align manually solves the issue for signing but this is only a temp fix for signing.

I copied the file from the 4.4W folder to the tools folder (I do this yesterday), the zipalign appears ok (green checked in gamesalad sign tool). But it don't accept my keystores passwords.

Well thats the zip align problem sorted! Right, for the keystone. Have you clicked change keystore and navigated to your keystore file and then entered your password, or just enterered your password without finding your keystore?

I searched for de keystore and entered de righ password. I have published at android before with the same steps. This is my first with the new mac. May be the keystore location? they are at same level of the sdk folder

It depends. Your keystore is made by and unique to your computer. If you have generated a new new one on your new computer, I would suggest copying your old keystore and putting it on your new mac. Otherwise if you generate a new one with your new mac, you can only release new games and NOT update existing ones.

I am having This same Issue and tried all the suggestions on this.
The file is not installed on my computer anywhere. Clicked the select buuton and searched and even typed in the path in the search box on my mac and still could not find it.

Reinstalled the Android sdk and updated EVERYTHING and still the same result.

Zip align error FIXED!!

This is what i did to fix the Zipalign error. Hope this helps because I was stuck on this for 2 days.

To locate the file do a file search on your system for the name zipalign and track the file path. Android moved the file in the latest update. Also make sure op you update the SDK and always after an update close the updated module and reopen the update module again as more can appear after you update.
