Move and spawn on grid

God I'm thick. I'm looking to have my actors spawn on a grid. I've looked at firemapels drag onto grid, but can't get it to work on spawning something. For example right now, you touch a ui button and then touch the background, causing an actor to appear. I'd like it to spawn within a grid. Any ideas or templates anyone can think of?

    would FMG's demo work if instead of spawning you had actors move in from off screen?
