Windows 8 Testing on a surface pro
Hi All
I would love some assistance with this please? I have my app developed in apple and android and would like to upload to the windows 8 platform. I only have a mac but my husband has a surface pro. I have my own developer account and he has his own.
He is reluctant to load gamesalad on his tablet, so I have given him the file that I have generated.
He opened his app signer and pointed to my app.
He entered my id etc and tried to sign it.
It came up with an error message:
Can't find the certificate file etc
How can we get this work as I would prefer not to buy a windows machine or change the configuration of his system to my developer code.
Another option is that set a virtual machine on my mac and load windows. Is that possible?
regards

Virtual machine will work fine
Surface pro will work fine too, but you need to have visual studio express 2012 (2013 doesn't work for some reason, and will give you a cert issue). You also need to install the windows 8 SDK, I don't remember if the 8.1 works or not.
Follow the instructions on the last two pages in this guide.

I got a version to work on the tablet. However it is showing in portrait size on the landscape orientation on the tablet.
When I sign all other apps it lets you select the orientation. How do I get it to fit in portrait mode on the surface? I built it as an ipad app with universal stretch.
I updated the package and downloaded it again, but it is not opening.
When you download the zip package, what file do you use?

I haven't experimented with windows publishing, but for most other platforms you have to select the scene orientation in the scene attributes under auto-rotate.

Thanks. I had a check in my auto rotate section and they are all set to portrait. Any assistance would be appreciated as I don't want to publish it when it won't fill the whole screen!
cheers
