How to set up save and load for best time

Hello gyroscope,
A couple of weeks ago you did a test project for me on lives and timer, which I’m really grateful. I have another issue and that is saving and loading the best time.
I tried to do it myself with no success at all, I’ve looked videos and read about save and load attributes it still won’t save or load the best time.
May be I’m putting the load and save attributes in the wrong place this is why it not working. Could you please help me out with loading and saving the best time?
Thanks,
Gerard.

Hi Gerard, you rang? See, it works!
Edit: I should learn to read properly - right, you're using Load & Save behaviours, not a Table...

A rough "lowdown" on using these behaviours, how best to use them:
• Make sure that the attribute associated with your high score is a game. one.
• Suggestion: on your Menu page, have two buttons, one marked Start or similar, the other marked Continue
• In the Start (or New Game) button, your High Score attribute will be set to zero.
• You make use of your Save Attribute behaviour in your Continue button, the Rules similar to:
• You then make sure your Save Attribute behaviour is in each of your scenes, normally at the end of a scene, with Rules along the lines of:
Change Attribute GameScore to GameScore + SceneScore
Be aware that load & save attributes won't work on the computer, only on your device.
Make sure that the key is typed exactly the same for both the load and save behaviours; and to avoid any possible probs, best to use nothing else but any of the lowercase letters a to z. (Numbers as well should be OK tho'.) At least there's less likelihood of a mismatch...
P.S Using "Code" in the post editor here is suddenly making the lines double line spaced for some reason - Vanilla glitch, maybe...

Hello gyroscope,
Sorry for delay in responding been doing the graveyard shift, I got your insightful information and I’m very thankful for it.
@tatiang Sorry for not putting the “@” sign as I wasn’t aware of this as my knowledge in these type of areas are limited.
Gerard.
@gyroscope,
Gerard here I’m having trouble understanding the load and save timer attributes. I set up the New game and Continue Game on my menu screen. I set up the rules but some how messed up the positioning of these rules.
Could I trouble you to explain the process in simpler terms? I have 5 levels to my game I understand the New Game button, the Continue Game button and scenes but the rules for these are stumbling block for me.
Thanks Gerard.
@Jaws206 Hi Gerard, I'm thinking I'd explain it the same way again - would it be possible for you to send me your game file? That's probably the best way of solving this one, I think...
So if you don't mind uploading a zipped file here directly, that's one option - but if you'd rather not, you could send it to contactdjg [at] talktalk.net if you like.
Either way, I could see what the problem is and report back here....

Here is my game file you asked I have 5 levels each with different number of enemies and bosses. The goal of this game is to start from level 1 finish that in the best time then move on to level 2 finish that and so on until the player reaches level 5 and finish that.
When the player finishes all 5 levels then they get the victory scene with the time and the best time to compare if they bettered their time.
Gerard.
@Jaws206 Hi Gerard, apology for the delay in getting back to you - thanks for your game file - I remember it now, I helped you before on it.
Though it's only showing 1 level (not that that matters if you want all your 5 levels to happen on a single screen but still no Rules for levels) and no Rules for the game high scores that you're confused about...
I mean to say, I thought you would have "had a shot" at implementing my suggestions so I could then see where things might have gone wrong...
i'm sorry to say I haven't the time to implement the high score, loading and saving stuff into your game file. (Nothing personal, I just don't seem to have enough time for anything, at the moment).
If you do implement my (or anyone else's) suggestions/recommendations, i'll see then if I've time to take another look to see what's going in, if it still not working.
