I can't pull my actor in the scene?

in Working with GS (PC)

This little problem has been irritating me for a while. Every time i pull my actor in the scene, the actor disappears. I've tried clicking in the position i placed it, but nothing happens? Is this a bug, or am i just stupid?

    Look in your properties tab of that actor. Did you turn the visibility off?

    Alpha = 0 ?
