Doodle Jump template problem ? (HELP PLEASE)

About a month a great guy from Code monster gave me this Doodle Jump Template, but I came into a problem I tried to address to him but he didn't reply and I've been trying to figure out whats wrong and I continued on with my app till it was time for Ad Hoc testing.

My problem is that when the main actor lands on platform sometimes he just doesn't jump. The actor just sits on the platform and the platform goes till it gets out of frame and my actor dies. He jumps sometimes but in the middle of game play it happens and he can't jump anymore and he dies. I copied the template given to me to the "T" . I noticed he added something like "+33" in the Y position somewhere in the code I don't know what it's for. It's a free template so could you guys tear it apart and tell me what could be causing this problem
