Hi,

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas if this would be possible in gamesalad.

There have been a few templates running around here in the forums... Just do a search and you should see them popup.

I think the issue you are going to run into is when you need to do something like "raycasting" with GS.

I did something like Candy Crush in my may game "Wboko Monster Blocks" if you want to check it out and see if that might be what you are thinking.... It was built in GS

    Good Luck!

@wboko nice one, thanks for the help. I'll have to look into this raycasting, never heard of it.

Bizarre thread of the week . . . a question on creating a time delay before a player's lives are replenished sees someone sent off to research ray-casting !

Huh? How does ray casting relate to time?

If we can grab the current machine time I'd say store that in an attribute or table

Thank you @Socks... and Sorry @filmsimon, I really missread what you were asking....

I thought you were asking about how they built "Candy Crush"... (I know, it was way off what you were asking)...lol

    So please let me explain,

When I first built "Wboko Monster Blocks" I tried to make it work just like Candy Crush in XCode and to detect when I switched block I used "Ray Casting" to check the blocks next to it for a match.

But to be honest, I thought the Candy Crush way seemed very boring, so I redid everything in GS. I have even received a few review emails from people telling me they were bored with Candy Crush, and wanted me to add more levels to "Wboko Monster Blocks"… I am working on it and should be out around Halloween…LOL

    Again, sorry for the mix-up....LOL
