Free version means you can't publish to app store?

So I was trying to publish my app made with the free version of creator, and it got rejected for supposedly having bugs(specifically 2.2 in the app store review guidelines). I searched the forums to see how to fix the problem and found this discussion: http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/70595/gamesalad-made-my-app-get-rejected
So the important part of this thread for me is this. Is it really not allowed to publish to the app store if I only have the free version of creator?
Thanks for your help guys.

So if you go to the creator tab then the go pro tab you will find a chart of the difference between pro and basic memberships, and iOS publishing is listed there as availible to basic members. So then what is the problem with my app not being accepted? by the way 2.2 in the App Store guidelines is this:
2.2
We found that your app exhibited one or more bugs, when reviewed on iPad running iOS 7.1.2 and iPhone 5s running iOS 7.1.2, on both Wi-Fi and cellular networks, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.
Specifically, we noticed when user launch the app, your app displays black screen.
The steps to reproduce are:
1. Launch the app
2. App displays black screen. No further action is taken.
My app isn't design for iPhone, just iPad, is that the problem?
Did you select that option during your publishing process? But if you have a black screen on the iphone, chances are the same will be on the ipad?

the free version can publish to the app store no problem. apple changed their approval process a few weeks ago and took everyone by surprise, but a fix has already been put in place.
the error you are describing indicates your app is freezing when loading your first scene. i suggest you test it on a device with an adhoc to see if it happens for you. the viewer/creator won't catch device related bugs.

I did test it via ad hoc and it worked just fine.
I know if you don't insert a splash screen it will show black....for at least a few seconds. Apple is very good about seeing something odd and rejecting it immediately without allowing the pause before game start. I don't know if free version of GS allows splash screens but I'm pretty sure that may be the issue. My adhocs do the same thing until final test I then insert splash screen. Blackness goes away. Apple accepted.
Recently while under review I had a similar issue...you tap start and 2 seconds later it slowly begins to interpolate alpha to 0 over 3 seconds. They rejected it saying nothing happens...I responded back to simply wait and the scenes will slowly change. They replied I was correct and accepted it.
