Seeking an iPad game publisher.

You see, I love creating games on GameSalad, and they even aren't bad. The problem is, I just can't afford the 99$ for the publishing program via GS. If anyone is interested in publishing the game, with full profit going to you, or any other way around, please respond.

-Thanks!

I will do it for whatever the community thinks is fair...I haven't published yet ....keep stalling...but am away for a week!...so you should probably find someone else :)

@Fungoentertainment - so you have spent all this time making a game and are willing to give it to someone else to take the profits?

Why not keep developing your games and have fun and just save up your money until you can afford to buy both the GS ($99) and Apple($99) developers licenses.

I wouldn't mind publishing it for you, but full profit? Hell no. You made the game, you deserve nearly all of the money. If I were to publish it, I would only ask for 5% of the profit at most. Basically, if you want the asking price to be $1, I'd only make 5 cents from it.

But I dunno. I never thought of publishing games, I'm more of in the business of making games. Hell, I'm busy trying to get a publisher for my own games cause I don't have the time or money to do a proper ad campaign....

I would do it, on the condition that full profits go to you which you can then use to finance your licenses :)

If you'd like to explore that, just drop me an email at joash@scorelessmusic.com.

Until recently, I was in the same position as fungo. I thought of posting a similar request but didn't for fear of receiving a lashing from either GS or the community... It's great to see how helpful everyone is being!

@fungo, the one thing that makes me want to get a dev license for GS is the ability to test on the devices. It would suck if something that worked great in preview bombed in the real world.

I ended up getting an "investor" to cover the GS and Apple Dev lincense costs...GS, the check is in the mail. ;-)

Edit: No, the "investor" is not Mom...

    IMHO...
$198 is a small price to pay to get into the game development business.

If you have a decent game concept that is well executed...you should be able to make that back rather quickly.

It is a small price to pay - but at the same time I know how the OP feels. I'll have the money to pay for both licenses mid next month, when I get paid by an affiliate company I've been using.

I could never just afford $198, or even $99 - I've had to work on getting it together for just over a month, personally.

I think it's great the people here offering to help out, good on all of you :)

I like your deal. I'll accept your offer of full profits! :)

I also know the feeling.... :(

Yeah I've been wanting to do this for awhile....

My final cost for everything was $812... (I didn't have a mac)

My parents wouldn't let me get a real job, so I had to save up $812... while that might be spare change for some of you.... I'm a teenager struggling to pay for gas, movies and clothes without having a real job haha....

My first check will be coming in soon though and then I'll have paid for the licenses! Yippee!

    Next the mac....

    Then a macbook pro!

Then a new car (hopefully haha)

My set up costs for imac, ipod touch, GS & apple license were over $1000 (if i convert £-$) and tbh the way its looking im not going to get that back anytime soon.

87 sales with 5 games out for week 17-23 may is very poor and i only had that amount because BuzzBee was featured for part of that time.

Yesterdays sales were 1 BuzzBee 1 Jungle Bug and i expect 0-5 sales a day from now onwards.

Its not easy to make back any money you invest and yes we do spend a lot of time marketing (with little effect, even the smaller sites are getting swamped now with review requests).

GL....i hope the sales pick up soon.

    Darren.

What is lawn mowing going for these days? $10/yard/week? 2 yards for the summer = $10 x 2 x 15 weeks = $300. So mow 2 yards for the summer and you have your licenses paid for. It shouldn't be too hard for any teenager to put together $200 worth of scratch if they really want to. I easily made $500-$1000 a summer back in the 80s when I was in HS...shouldn't be too hard these days either.

1 summer I saved up enough from mowing lawns to buy a VCR...that was when they cost over $500.

Have a garage sale...you can easily put together $200 with a decent yard sale and clean out the garage at the same time. Or sell your bike or some old CDs/video games or something. Do some baby sitting or odd jobs around the neighborhood. The point is...$200 isn't too big a number to raise if you work at it...unless you live in a 3rd world country.

ebay is still great for raising funds, do you have charity shops in the US? It is very easy in the UK to double or triple your money in no time, just have to deal with a lot of grannies and ex cons! :)

@ Rob2, Everything I see regarding fundraising is for non-profit organizations. Can you link an existing auction taking advantage of the method you're referencing?

Auction the opportunity to have an ad on an app or a name on an app. You'll be famous concept.

Yea, I did make all the money over last years summer.... Yea I did mow and weadeat... Maybe I exaggerated, but it still sucks not being able to get a real job and having to get all that money together when you still have tons of other expenses.... You probably get the point though... :) Hoping I can make more over this years summer though... Being lazy and sitting at my computer :D
