Animating my Player to 4 frames.

in Working with GS (PC)

I've seen a lot of people making their player animate to look like they are running, Jumping etc..

I have my player, But I was wondering what program people use to make a simple 4 frame animation?

I'm just looking for something simple. I know i can do it in photoshop, but id prefer some kind of software to make it smoother.

    Spriter has a FREE and PRO version, don't know the difference.

    Seems i would need all separate images of the player actor image, per part id want to animate.... I don't want to do that all again, I just need to warp and create a few image frames of my PNG.. Guess photoshop it is.
