Confused on what to do with universal builds

Hello,

Could someone please help me with a very confusing subject? I built my app for the iPhone and iPod touch, published to the app store but got rejected because it didn’t work on the iPad.

I didn’t know I had to set it up for the iPad as well; anyway I went looking for information on universal builds. Found a lot of information on the subject but still none the wiser for it.

I came across this YouTube video from GSHelper, which made sense but don’t know where to put this info. Do I put it on the home as a control actor or do I put it in each actor? I already have a control actor in my game scene.

Or if someone else could come up with better way of implementing this code so my app will work on iPad, iPhone new and older versions I would much appreciated.

Gerard

You don't have to make it universal, Apple requires that your iPhone app run on a iPad, remember iPad owners can download and install iPhone games so they have to work.

Thanks for the reply BBEnk, so what do I do from here? I built my app as an iPad built I don’t know where to go from here.

I’m Sorry my fault I didn’t explain after the rejection I decided to build it for the iPad.

The reason for this I read a lot of articles on app building and most say build it for the iPad and then use universal builds and set it up to work on the iPhone, iPod and some of the old models.

At the moment my app is set up for the iPad and I used “Resolution Independence”

    Thanks,
    Gerard.

I thought all iphone games worked on the ipads. Via the x2 button.

Ok, so easy way just select Universal in the publishing portal fill out info and select stretch and it will work on all devices.

But it will look stretched on iPhone4 and more so on iPhone5. the video above I believe is showing you how to make it fit different screens without looking stretched but does take more work. it's up to you which way you wish to publish.

Thank you very much for your answer, if I use the video information where do I put those values in my game?
