Most of my controls are all grouped within in a TIMER 0_ O

I was looking at the very beggining of the main actors behaviors, and found nearly all movement was grouped under a super timer that runs every 0 seconds, I think I learned this from an old how to gamesalad video.
I heard that timers are not that great with memory, could it be the reason my character gets "stuck" on running and won't respond is because of the timer? Should I just leave the controls in there since its just a single timer mapped to dozens of controls, or does that act like a dozen timers running at the same time?

I put in within a group and took them out of the timer, the effect was that the character would walk a few steps and then slow down, lol. I can't remember what the tutorial did with movement, but I also noticed it wouldn't freeze up when having tons of fireballs hurled at it. Guess the timers really cause lag in the windows preview. {Never any lag in html export.}
