Have you tried using his template as your starting point and adding your own graphics?
Clearly you have some rules (check all your otherwise areas) that are conflicting with the constrain rules. This happened to me so many times. You think you are doing it exactly the same and you have one little thing different and it makes all the difference in the world. Do you still have those 4 boxes that somebody suggested earlier? If so, delete them. Just above the inspector window in gs click on scene and look at your layers. For testing purposes make sure that the only actor in the scene is the one you want following your finger (just to be sure there is nothing else messing things up). Then look in your main actor with a fine-toothed comb. Make sure everything is identical to the template. Make sure that the only things TYPED in are numbers and math symbols (*+-/). You should select everything else from the menus.
Create a new scene and put your ship actor on the screen and make sure thats the only actor in that scene...
Then preview it... It should work... But if it doesn't... That means you have conflicting rules in your ship actor.... So you'll have to change or remove the rules that are conflicting with it...
If it does work... that means you have conflicting rules in other actors... So basically you'll have to go through ALL your other actors to find the conflict of interest...
Let us know how it goes!
Good Luck!
Also... if you still can't get this to work.. consider uploading your project onto the web (and allow us to download it) or emailing it to me and I'll take a look.

Right now whenever i touch the ship it goes all over the place and doesn't follow my finger....
It seems like all you suggestions should work but they aren't....
Anyone else have any ideas?
