Do you have the option to display a portrait-sized iAd in a landscape iPhone game?

Hi guys,

A quick question- in iAd can you display a portrait-sized iAd in an iPhone landscape game? I've never seen this done before, but apparently according to GS Viewer that's how it's done? image

(The above is a screenshot of a plain landscape iPhone app from the iOS Viewer).

If this is not possible, is it possible to display a portrait iAd on the right or left of the screen when it's a landscape game (will Apple reject the app for this?)

Basically I want to display my HUD without having to place the ad on top and then the HUD underneath the ad (to maximize game real estate). If that screenshot is in fact correct, that'd be perfect actually.

Thanks for your help!

    Hi Chakku,

No, iAds cannot be resized - they will take up the width of the screen.
Additionally, you cannot have an iAd display on the right or left side of the screen if the game is in landscape mode.

Thanks for the reply. Hmmm, what would the purple thing be in that screenshot though?

Well it can't be an iad. Unless I've missed something, like an update, GameSalad doesn't allow half screen iads (does apple, even?) .

I was using the "Show Banner" Behavior, and selected the "320x50- iPhone" option. This was in a landscape iPhone project.
