Can't Update iPad Adhoc

I've updated an old ipad game and created a new adhoc. I deleted the old version using iTunes and replaced it with the new version. Sync it up and I keep getting the old version. I've been troubleshooting this for hours. What's the solution?

How are you loading the application through iTunes. Try and do it through Xcode's device manager or organizer. Here you can see what is on your device and easily add adhoc applications.

Thanks Matt Butler. I will do that next time.

What worked for me was to:
1.) delete the app from the ipad (hold down the icon and touch the "x")
2.) turn off the ipad
3.) using iTunes/app delete the app from the Library (even though it's still there)
4.) publish the app from GameSalad Portfolio with a different name
5.) drag it over the iTunes icon, click on "replace" at the prompt
6.) launch

I don't know why,but the old version seems to stay in the library unless you do all these steps. Maybe somebody in the forums could explain this to me.

Actually, I can't figure out how to use X-Code Device Manager.

I found if use the "Save" and "Load" behaviors in your Adhoc, they will just keep all the data saved to your plist for your game even when you update with a new version. However if you delete the way @IKandy says it will also delete the plist from your device.

@iKandy‌ what version of Xcode are you using? In other words are you using Xcode beta or just the regular stable version?

I'm using the latest version on Xcode.

Plug your device into your computer using usb cable. Open XCode and go to XCode/Preference and enter your login details click the "View Details" button. In the popup click the refresh arrow. This will update all your profiles in XCode.

Next click Window/Organiser/Your device if use for development is visible click it. I am
nNot absolutely sure about the steps here it has been a while since I have done and is no longer visible in XCode.

In the left pane click on Applications then the "+" sign at the bottom and locate and install your app. In future installs be careful when overwriting previous versions if you have changed a table you will get unexpected results. It is always best to tap and delete the app on your device.
