Are there any good games made with GS?

I swear I can't find any good games made with it, they all appear to be created by kids or developers who are clueless. I hope apple bans GS next week, pretty sure they will because GS games make Apple hardware look like junk.

Oh quantum, he's just new and probably a little nervous. Give him a chance, I'm sure he'll be a delight to have around!

No, I've never been banned. :-(

Seriously, I cant find a single GS game that doesn't suck.

GameSalad is in Beta and has its limitations. But there is room to do quality stuff if you are creative, crafty, and clever. The games produced represent the skill level of the developer that made it. And GameSalad allows beginners as well as advanced devs to build games. I have a feeling...most users are beginners or novice developers. But there are some really good games out there.

    What have you made ensa?
Or are you just trolling as QS suggests?

We had this same problem last week, Syn - best to ignore and not reply to this thread anymore till it gets deleted.

Not you design, ensa. Some ass last week started posting on how much gs sucks and that their games kept getting rejected. It was proven they were lying, and were posed about being called out for stealing the salad-gamers.com website and making their own.

    I think they've made a return :/
  • synthesissynthesis Member Posts: 1,693
If is indeed trolling...not enough to tell...although he did just join today...so you are probably right QS.

Can't GS block his IP if indeed its the same troll?
They should at least compare the IPs and verify location.
  • synthesissynthesis Member Posts: 1,693
    YEP bark/QS...!
Yoda...kill em and get that IP. Then hack him and reformat his hard drive.

Nice try kids, but you are wrong again. Hack my left nut... I know how to use proxy servers (look that up kiddies)

Sure GS games suck! They suck up all my extra time from playing and creating them. Perhaps you should try gamesalad ! Perhaps you could make something good as well. And on the brighter side it will give you something better to do than just TRYING to suck your own knob all day!

Ah, another 10 year old. Son, I write my apps in Objective C using OpenGL ES, I don't need some half assed piece of crap like you do.

I know who you mean, I just like having a little fun with troll threads.

So, should we speculate whether ensa is male or female?

Okay, now you are just boring.

Objective C must be really boring if you feel the need to troll a forum for entertainment and to try and boost your ego. If you want some examples of good games w/ Gamesalad start out w/ Danger Cats, Stunt Squirrels, Star Daze HD, Asplosion HD, and there's a lot more. There's been dozens in the top 100 lists and featured by Apple. I wouldn't worry about Gamesalad getting banned. Apple seems to like us. Which hit app did you make again?
  • synthesissynthesis Member Posts: 1,693
    Okay yoda...
Kill him and block the IP. He sounds like the same guy/girl/thing from last week.
  • ChaserChaser Member Posts: 1,453
I think it's funny that you come here to vent. What happened, your mom moved you back to the small room! Or did your c based app get rejected? Either way you show your immaturity just by being here to blast GS and all the Devs. I sense jelousy!

I'm tired of this god-complex exhibited by a lot of 'proper' programmers. objective-c is simply a tool, as is game salad. congratulations for taking the time to master it if you indeed have, but it does NOT mean that you can make good games. most programmers i know couldn't come up with a decent game to save their life, and that's where the true art lies. game salad gives those of us who haven't the time nor desire to master complex coding languages the opportunity to produce some stunning games.

the app store is crammed with terrible games most likely coded in objective-c and game salad is helping to ease traditional programmers' tight grip on the app market. i believe i'm right in saying that shigeru miyamato didn't possess the technical skills to code games, but i reckon some of his are pretty good regardless!

@nightleaf - you keep dreaming like that. haha

The best game designers are in fact programmers... artists are a dime a dozen... so keep dreaming!

You know, the best game designers are actually... game designers...

The clue is in the title.

    Keep dreaming though!

I may not be the most treasured member here (actually im probably one of the most hated getting put down for ideas all the time :/ ) but I think I know when someone is just trying to be a dick! On my behalf and probably most of the others here to as well @ensa we work hard on our games and although you may think GameSalad is a crappy tool we enjoy working with it because we dont want to code all day long and turn into crackheads who think they have to put everyone down like you!

I am here because I LOVE GameSalad and just think everyone, if we wouldnt have found this program we might be sitting around finding sites like this one to trash and act like a piece of SH*T like you ensa! Yes Im only 16, yes Im a developer, and no Im not just a kid: Im a kid who thinks you are a low-life bastard with nothing to do! And by the way, if you did know how to code you would be doing that now not on some random forum. Infested punks who think they own the world make me SICK!

i'm not sure i discussed artists in my post.

the recent rise of game designers and programmers being the same person is just that - recent. do you think big game studios will pay one guy to design AND code? tasks are delegated; it's only since independent game designers have been able to make a living through structures like the app store that the individuals would both design and code.

    web dictionary:

    - programmer - a person who designs and writes and tests computer programs

does that not make us all programmers? i can't find a hole in this logic, but then i'm just a lowly game salad user so what do i know?

i anxiously await your witty comeback ensa. but you're really just ranting for the sake of it. take some time to experience what some of the fantastic game salad users have to offer and if your argument still persists then you're just wrong really.

So ensa is now newsa? Anyway! Get back to working on that c based app you haven't made money from yet!

Ensa, hi welcome to the forum, you seem like a lovely chap to have around the forum..

I insist you go and buy 'Quake Builder' from the app store.

The paid version is really quite incredible...

Oh hang on a minute I made it and may well be slightly biased...

Here's the link, please deposit the $1.99 to apple thankyou...
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/quake-builder/id355345146?mt=8

also from everything I've read t-shirts star daze game is brilliant...

    ...

there may be some mediocre games out there made with GS but there's a lot of app store crap made using Cocoa and Xcode too. So don't band GS just only buy the games you want.
