Creating new behaviors

Hi, possibly a bit advance for me I realise, as I've not been working with GS for long, but:

I'm curious to know how to create custom behaviours that go in the My Behaviors folder in the Actor Editor. Can't find any info in Support; any pointers/info please?

:-)

The My Behaviors area is for storing Rule sets that you use a lot.

Simply drag the Rules you make on the right into that area.

However, there is currently a bug where you cannot delete anything out of the My Behaviors area.

Hi, I wonder if there's a way to copy or export behaviour groups in the My Behaviours folder for use in the My Behaviours folder in another game? If not, surely this is badly needed for quite a few people! (Any actor names or attributes would have to be changed once in the other game, I realise).

You can copy and then paste any combined set of rules into any other game. You can select multiple rules by holding the shift key and clicking each one, then copy and paste it.

A way to export "My Behaviors" would be a great feature to have for sure! But untill then, I guess copy pasting a set of rules and then dragging them to the new game will have to do as the best work around.

Please note that when you paste into a new game, you will have to reselect any attributes that were a part of your rule sets.

Hi Kyle, thanks; I tried copy and paste again but still couldn't get it to work unfortunately. Though I did discover that rules/behaviours can be dragged and dropped from one game project to the other without any need for copy and paste; seems useful enough!

    Thanks for that; good advice.

Usually copy paste works for me, but you are correct about dragging from one project to another!

Can you drag the actual custom behaviors or do you have to drag the rules and create the custom behavior in the new project?

I'll check this out when I get home but ill be gone all day so im just curious!

    Thanks for any input!

Did a quick test: a bit disappointing, you can't drag the custom behaviour items across unfortunately (or the complete folder, for that matter). So at the moment, the only way to copy one of the items in the My Behaviours folder is to drag it to the area on the right, more often than not after something that's already there in the Rules section, then drag it across to the other project, then delete it.

It's worth suggesting that make the custom behaviour items can be draggable; that would be far easier, I'm sure you'll agree!

    :-)

Edit: for interest, I've just posted that suggestion in the New Features? section.
