Hi there!
It's been quite a while since my last post and I'd really like to show you what I've been working on over the last months.
Of course I kept developing games, but I also started this VR project:
For the first demos, I've used assets from my existing games (and from some upcoming ones). And of course, we added VR gaming to this experience!
We've been working on this since February this year, but unfortunately we weren't able to go public any earlier due to unfinished patent matters.
So, now we're even more excited to finally show this to the world!
I've also created a website with all the background info on this project:
http://www.vr-coaster.com
And don't forget to visit us at http://www.facebook.com/vrcoaster !
Best,
Thomas

Thats a brilliant Idea! I could totally get back into endless runners with that thing.
That's just crazy insane!
All the best with the project!
This is an amazingly brilliant idea! Keep up the awesome work!
I've always wanted to make an 'on-rails' shooter.
I think you've just taken that idea to the nth level!
Grats!

Really cool idea!
I could even see myself traveling to another country with some friends to try that.
I'm not a big coaster fan, but I'd be on that with the headset in a second! What a great idea!

Thank you so much!
I must say, before my first ride 5 months ago, I still had some doubts if it would even work at all. We had only tested rolling around on office chairs with the OR... But then it worked so well, it actually turned out to be one of the best things I have ever experienced in my whole life. Words fail me to describe how this feels. It is simply mind-blowing. Gonna post some more footage tomorrow...
As promised, here's some more footage!
Complete onride with VR+reality filmed from behind the laptop on the Blue Fire:
So since you have ridden it, does it even feel like a coaster or does the VR make it/trick your brain into feeling different? I'm not sure that question makes sense but I imagine you know what I mean...

That looks awesome. I'd probably be sick for the rest of the day since I already get sick in a carousel but that would not keep me from trying this

I tipt Nu.nl the biggest Dutch online newspaper. Let's hope they do something with it
Lump Apps and My Assets
Hey, thanks a lot @LumpApps for the support! Yes, feel free to spread the word...
And here's another one, this time a family coaster that becomes way more spectacular in VR (playing around with vertigo) :
Well, it does feel different, probably because you don't always know what's coming.
I think the most impressive thing is that, while wearing the OR, you'd expect just a harmless video game experience (which is also a good thing for people who are afraid of rollercoasters).
But then you feel the intense acceleration or you start dropping, and you're just blown away.
The Blue Fire accelerates from 0 to 70mph in just 2.5 seconds, and that is just insane when paired with VR.
Ingenious!

Hi again,
just wanted to give you a quick update on our VR Coaster project.
Watch our new video that explains our commercial concept which is entirely based on mobile VR:
Here's also a visual explanation of the whole concept:
At the moment, we're working on a VR Coaster version of Spooky Hoofs... :-)
Together with our partner Mack Rides, we've presented this system at the IAAPA fair in Orlando and we're already receiving enormous interest and support from the industry. So, I'm quite confident that you'll be able to test this amazing kind of experience on a roller coaster near you soon...
As always, feel free to like us at Facebook:
