GS for Android

Is GS looking into supporting Android. The Android market is growing faster and faster. Andoird has out sold the iPhone this last quarter. It's also getting more press than before.
I've downloaded Shiva and started playing with it, but i would really like something closer to GS. I would like to know if Android is even being considered, and if so when.

I don’t want to get into any kind of debate on iPhone vs Androd, or why GS should or should not support Android. Just a simple yes or no question
Best of luck!
Not that we need to hear a release date b/c we know better, but to know if it's planned or in the works would be nice to help other devs so they know which direction to go
Sorry, I did not mean to come across that way. Your also right that the forum is for conversation. I was just wanting to get my point across that an answer from GS would be nice. Once again sorry for my attitude.
GameSalad remains targeted at the Apple specific features of the iDevice world.
Gendai can create another dev platform called "DroidSalad" that caters to the specifics of that market.
That way an iDevice competitor never displays a "Made with GameSalad" Splash.
droidsalad. interesting idea.
Or Saladroid

Basically I like the idea of the prospect of being able to publish to the Droid...
Would be nice if Gamesalad could give us some answers.
We don't need release dates, or prospective times, we just want to know if that is a direction they're headed towards trying or not.
Yoda....? Ricolla?
My apps for Android are very simple apps. If I had GS for droid I would be making a killing. I've not made a new app in nine months for Android, because I've made 12 apps for the iPhone/iPad. Five of my iPhone apps was made with GS, and the other seven with xCode. I've enjoyed using GS, but I make more money still on the Android market.
All my apps for Android was made with Java. This is why I'm looking at Shiva, but Shiva is not as easy as GS. I've said in other forums here that I think Android will be the dominate phone OS.
So if anyone at GS could answer the question...that would be great.
Now if Apple says "no more" to Gendai, then and only then DroidSalad becomes viable. IF Droid is still on the market. Who remembers Beta? It was better than VHS but became relegated to the trash bin of "good-ish" ideas...
Apple has the market cornered now, folks, and it's going to be a hard battle to get anything ahead at this late date. Sure "they" sold Droids last month, they also spent MEGA$$$ on TV and paper media Blitzing. Apple likely spent less than a tenth. Don't forget that there are competitors in the Driod world, and they are scrabbling for a piece of a piece of Apple pie...
Apple is in it to win it, and GameSalad is a good tool, and if the devs concentrate on improving it and adding features to match the HW capabilities, they'll become an esteemed partner.
I just had an app rejected because it was not wi-fi capable, and could not connect to social media. Now I have to rebuild it in XCode. It will probably take me about three times as long, but it is important to utilize the HW and OS features of the targeted devices.
GS, if you are listening, concentrate on adding the right features to GS, and making it the goto tool for Apple iDevice development.

We have no plans to support Android at this time. We prefer to first focus on helping our customers create the best iPhone OS experience for their players as possible. This focus will help us move on iPhone and iPad features much faster, and the iPhoneOS still commands the vast majority in App Sales.

We hope that provides a clear answer to your concerns.

This does create a market for a new service... GameSalad to Android conversions. A possible approach would be GameSalad to Flash, and then convert the flash file to Android with the new version of Adobe Air.
This is not the route I wanted to go. But with a clear answer, I can start making other plans.
...and I think this might have been the first time I've seen the CEO post. It seems that more people work at Gendai Games than I thought.
What reason did Jobs cite for closing the Adobe path? "They are lazy and did not work at improving their product to be the best tools for Apple." This tells you what Apple's thinking is - I still believe it is in Apple's best interest to have Gendai as a partner, because it establishes their willingness to not be completely closed. Having good partners is the best defense against Adobe's silly lawsuit.
Bravo to "Lexandr(Michael)" and I sincerely hope to see more Apple features embedded into GameSalad soon... Things like Wifi capabilities, iAd, GameCenter, in-App Purchases, and whatever else Apple supports -- if GameSalad supports these too, we are looking at "the beginning of a beautiful relationship"...
