Eventually, sure. Now or any time soon? Certainly not, they have much larger fish to fry, and it'll be awhile for public adoption either way.

We need this now. GS developers could be some of the first to be making games for the apple watch if we get this thing moving! The apple watch will bring a whole new "depth" to the gaming industry!

While I'm a yes, I don't think it needs to be so urgent. First off, it isn't yet clear whether (r rather, when) will Apple support and open up the watch to games. Right now, it seems like it mainly interacts with iPhone Apps. Well, yeah, it could be cool to control a game with the Apple Watch!

    I am voting yes.
There is a whole new possibility of interaction with the new interface not only in the UI/GUI of the watch but between the phone and the watch.

Couldn't hurt, apple seemed to be pushing the product pretty hard during the presentation, I think it will do well.

What I really want is an .exe export though.

Also looks like its a feature request now:

Just great.. New screen sizes that will have to work with every apple device or its denied. Now GS can come up with 15 new features to add to their list of features that are already glitching current features that havent fully been featured anyway. Just to feel like they are keeping up with the trend. By making something that works with the Watch.

NO!!!!!!!. DO NOT even think about the watch until you have officially left beta. SHow us you can at least finish 90% of what you have already started. How about we let the concrete harden nice and firm before we go out picking the curtains for the walls we havent even put up yet.

    That would be so cool!

I would like for PC and Android consoles support, to be top priority.

I voted yes but definitely no hurry to implement what will probably be a flop or a small market. Time will tell :).

No, I for one pay quality money for apple products - and expect nothing but the best, I would love to have one platform where it isn't going to be covered with junk or having to stroll through so many flappy or 2048 clones. As shown at the Keynote, which was brilliant, the iPhone is becoming a platform for professional games.

However - If it is a small amount of developers than it is going to be a gold mine so I can see why people would want to support it.

No...Mostly because it's not for games. Two, GS is not geared towards what they are doing here. GS needs to focus on what they have and get out of beta already! If there were ways to companion your app via GS....then...

  • MattButlerStudiosMattButlerStudios Member Posts: 486

Why wouldn't you want support for the watch. More options are always good no matter what. Besides, it isn't even going to be available until 2015 so we have some time to bicker over this topic. :)

Well this is a rather controversial subject..

I can see where you are coming from here, but Gamesalad users have indeed made apps that aren't technically considered "games". I believe that the watch could have a market for mini games that people use as time wasters, so why not expand into that market too. However, like you mentioned above it may be better to put that off unless it can be executed quickly. It would also be nice to companion the watch with our apps, but I believe that this would be far from an easy task for the GS team.

I think avoiding this is inevitable. There will always be "crappy" apps/games out there, even if capabilities aren't opened up to alternative software development kits. That's why it is nice to be able to filter through the app store and find what you think it appealing and download it. Good apps will shine and the rest will get filtered out.

Apple know that iPhone took off once the Appstore became a reality - it built the market and this will be the same.
GS, I believe, needs to go beyond just the idea that it is only a game platform. The app market can be/is wider than that. Having said that there will be killer games made for this.
I do not want to be left behind.

building your game to work with all Apple screen sizes is easy including the new ones.

Maybe in the future. How about multiplayer first.

This is not a priority. Ouya and other real game consoles would be a better move for GS.

  • Thunder_ChildThunder_Child Member Posts: 2,343

Can we not just make a custom screen size and stretch to fit? Surely we are going to try....is it a seperate iOS or something?

    I don't know about Ouya.

Ouya is not a "real" console AND is not an ideal market.

I like the idea/challenge of making games for watches - could be fun :)

Or it could just be 100000000 breakout/pong/flappy bird clones...
