Yes when a new iOS comes out you need to update Xcode.

I have Xcode 5.1.1 and IOS viewer 0.12.4 was installed without problems.
You should update. Especially if you have iOS 8 on your device
where is the download for viewer 0.12.4? thats the problem i'm having....
We pulled the 0.12.4 build and demoted it to a release candidate. We just released release candidate 0.12.6 yesterday.
